The prospect of Carlos Tevez joining Paris Saint-Germain appeared to be receding on Friday night soon after it was reported talks with the Manchester City striker’s representatives had failed.
Reports have emerged from France claiming the ambitious French club have been unable to attain an agreement with the Argentinian more than a possible move.
Tevez’s advisor Kia Joorabchian had travelled to Paris to meet with senior club officials, like sporting director Leonardo and new coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Press Association Sport understands the talks are unlikely to be resurrected, meaning that Tevez’s long term stays uncertain.
Inter Milan are nevertheless in negotiations with City above the player although AC Milan, the other club to have been heavily linked with the 27-year-old, not too long ago pulled out of discussions.
There has been speculation, however, that the Serie A champions could resurrect their interest in a player who remains out of favour at City prior to the finish of the January transfer window.
Tevez has not played for City since turning out to be embroiled in a dispute with the club in September and is at the moment in Argentina awaiting a possible move.
Manager Roberto Mancini mentioned he hoped the saga could be resolved speedily but newest developments might scupper his wishes.
Either way, the Italian admitted the player does not have a long term at the Etihad Stadium.
When asked if Tevez could return to his group if a move failed to materialise, Mancini explained: “This is impossible. Carlos does not want to stay.
“It is important for him to start to play since he is a football player.
“It is now 3 months that he hasn’t played and this is not great for him.”
He extra: “I hope for him every little thing can finish extremely speedily.”
The absence of Tevez, City’s former captain and talisman, has left Mancini with just three frontline strikers in Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli for much of the campaign.
Though City have largely prospered with that trio scoring 41 goals amongst them in all competitions, injuries to Dzeko and Balotelli this month did leave the Barclays Premier League leaders light up front for selected video games.
In these situations, Mancini concedes he may have wished he could get in touch with upon Emmanuel Adebayor, the City forward at the moment thriving on a season-extended loan at Tottenham.
Adebayor had a disagreement with Mancini and invested the 2nd half of final season at Real Madrid just before getting granted yet another move to White Hart Lane.
His 9 targets this phrase have assisted lift third-location Spurs into a title battle with City and Mancini claims he is pleased to see him prospering.
And when asked if he may possibly have liked him in his group lately, he stated: “Probably, probably – but we didn’t know with Carlos what would take place in Munich.
“We had four strikers. I feel with 4 strikers you can perform one year.
“I am joyful for Manu because he is taking part in really properly for Tottenham.”
Mancini says he could not constantly guarantee Adebayor, signed by Mark Hughes from Arsenal for 㿅million in 2009, a spot in his group.
A determination above the 27-year-old’s long term will have to be made when his loan expires in the summer time and Mancini is unsure if he could come across a area for him again in his side.
He mentioned: “I don’t know in this second.
“I mentioned I am happy since I watched a lot of video games and he has played really nicely, scored a lot of targets.
“Occasionally it is doable that you have a scenario like this – you have great gamers but he desires to play always. This is difficult in a best group.
“When you have 3 or four robust strikers you need to modify.
“If you have one striker who needs to perform always it is not straightforward.”
Mancini will at least not have to contend with Adebayor as Spurs check out the Etihad Stadium for an eagerly-anticipated encounter on Sunday.
The restrictions of the loan preclude the former Monaco guy from facing his parent club in a game that could have big implications for the title race.
